After returning from the Karak Mines the Outsiders reported to Bram Ironfell and announced that they had closed the mines. They then spent time resupplying and selling things around town. That night, Kalaban introduced the group to Timur Aisling and he explained why he’d been sent. The next day, in the rain, they began trying to hunt down the missing boy. They met and helped Haelyn and were warned of where the Lost Ones were hiding by a mercenary. In the Temple of Amaunator they defeated the head of the Thieves and saved Thurann. After that they travelled back to Brindol to meet up with Sertanian. He took them to a back room where they were spoken to and instructed by a talking sword, named Amyria. As she was charging them with a quest, they were attacked by more mercs looking to collect the bounty on their head.

Strange events had begun occurring in the town of Brindol. Thurann and Timur Aisling were chosen to go to Overlook to find the Outsiders and bring them back. The two of them set off for Overlook, but once they got inside the city walls, they realized that their search would be harder than they’d expected. After many false leads, they drew closer to finding the heroes, but then they were ambushed and Thurann was kidnapped.

Taking the lift down the secret shaft in Fortress Ironfell, the Outsiders had finally found the Lost Mines of Karak. In the caves, they found the way lit by red glowing veins in the walls, which seemed to weaken them when touched. The caves were very well guarded, raising suspicion, and the deeper they went, the thicker the veins of glowing red rock ran. In a large room, they found the fallen bodies of many dwarves who looked like they’d slain each other in a fit of rage. The various branches of the paths took them deeper underground and they could almost feel chaotic urges coming over them and soon there aws no doubt as to why the Dwarves had killed each other. Finally, they found the real Queen of the Drylands, a huge Naga. The battle against her was brutal but they finally prevailed, and also discovered who was funding the new mining of the Karak Load.

Wounded and exhausted, they turned to find that the Birdman had disappeared, his trail leading out the front door into the sand storm raging outside. They tried to follow his trail but the scouring winds forced them back into the shelter of the fotress. They chose a defensible position and settled down to rest for the night. In the middle of the night, the sound of squawking canaries roused the group and they were able to fend off a surprise attack, but no trace of the Birdman could be found. They were able to follow a trail of feathers back down to the prison, where a secret passage had opened, leading down deeper into the earth.

After killing the Warden, the group found that the village and the surrounding areas were under the control of the Queen of the Drylands. While searching for the Lost Minds of Karak they agreed to see if they could get rid of this “queen” as well. The Outsiders forged on through the desert, trying to follow the age-worn markers which led them on. Finally, they came upon an old Dwarven Fortress and snuck inside through the roof entrance, hoping to find shelter from a brewing sandstorm.

After returning from Umbraforge, the group rested up, while the Dwarven Council had Sarshan’s warehouses cleaned out. They found a strange trap and instead of risking their own men, they asked the “Heroes of Overlook” to deal with the trap. After that, the Outsiders were invited to dinner and hired by a leader of The Consortium, Bram Ironfell, to hunt down the Lost Mines of Karak.

As building earthquakes rocked the tower, the Outsiders refused to work for Sarshan, and then the Foundry exploded. As Sarshan rushed off to oversee his forces, the group used the ensuing chaos to escape the tower and to return to the Mortal Plane, unable to Locate Sarshan/Devir.
